Socks are my favorite! I have been making and teaching socks for many years. This is my basic toe-up, reinforced heel flap recipe. It is worked in a heavy fingering weight yarn, knitted tighter than suggested gauge, so that it will wear for a long time.
As the pattern is written, these are suitable to be worked in magic loop or on 2 circular needles. The sizes listed are in US shoe sizes for guidance in narrowing down which size to knit. These are meant to be worn with negative ease. Choose a size with finished measurements of about ?-1 inch less than your measurement. I have included instructions for 3 sizes, which can accommodate 10 different shoes sizes, both men’s and women’s.
